IBM PC or compatible PCs 2. Windows 3.0 or above version 3.0 (This version is for windows only) 3. The resolution of a monitor is 640 x 480 at least, VGA/SVGA etc. 4. mouse (if it is available) ---------------- 1. INSTALLATION ---------------- To install DSO Viewer on your hard disk, 1. Insert the DSO Viewer disk in your floppy drive. In drive B (or A, depends on what type of disk you are supported), type INSTALL C: then push [ENTER]. (To see the usage, type INSTALL or INSTALL /? please.) It will create a subdirectory "C:\VIEWER" in your hard disk and copy the following two files : viewer.exe --> The execution file readme.exe --> Showing readme.txt readme.txt --> This file (in DOS mode) readme.hlp --> Help file (in windows mode) yesno.exe 2. Start Windows. 3. From the Program Manager, choose File and New. 4. Choose a new group and name it "DSO 320" (suggestion). 5. Repeat the step 3, then choose a new item of program. In the frame Discreption, type "DSO Viewer" or whatever you prefer. In the frame Contents, type "C:\VIEWER\VIEWER.EXE". In the frame Working Directory, type "c:\VIEWER". After that, choose OK. Now you have a new group named "DSO 320" and an icon named "DSO Viewer" in your windows. -------------- 2. OPERATIONS -------------- The DSO Viewer allows you to use mouse or keyboard for giving commands. Communication --------------- 1. Connect your PC and DSO properly. 2. At the begining of DSO Viewer you have to choose "Files/ Comm setup", then choose the proper port COM1, COM2, COM3 or COM4, the default port is COM1. 3. Next, choose "Receive/Single" for single screen transmitting or "Receive/Continuous" for transmitting continuously. If it is in continuous mode, double clicking the left button of the mouse in the area of the "View Graph" window will stop it. 4. If you want to disconnect the communication, please choose "Receive Stop". After that, if you want to transfer data again, please repeat step 2. 5. During the transmitting mode, you are allowed to : - Save the graph as a new file by using "Files/Save" as. (If no name is given, "escort.tmp" will be the default name. ) - Open any file which is existing and show the graph by using "Files/Open". No Communication ------------------ See step 5 in Communication section, the only difference is no any connection here. Operation in "View Graph" Window ---------------------------------- 1. Print ÄÂÄÄ? Go => To execute printing ? ÀÄÄÄ Setup ÄÂÄÄ? Size => To change the size of printing ? ÀÄÄÄ Resolution => To change the resolution of the printer 2. DSO ÄÂÄÄ? Display => There are six modes of waveforms display. ? ÃÄÄÄ Mode => Dots-connection methods, the default method is ? "Spike". ? ÀÄÄÄ Grid => Screen grid mode in scope, the default mode is "Full". 3. Close => To close the window of "View Graph". Notes: a. Zooming : Move cursor to the area inside the grided-screen, then click the left button of the mouse for zooming in, or click the right button of the mouse for zooming out. b. x-axis shifting : Click the left button of the mouse and keep holding and drag the mouse till the place you want to stop and keep the button up.
